and ill stand by my opinion/statement and say that i have not had any issues with a ocz vertex2 drive. i have purchased 3 of them, and a buddy of mine also has one. zero issues, none required firmware updates, and they all ran at advertised speeds.

I'd do a clean install. Then set your hard drives to AHCI in the bios.

All those other 'tweaks' I've never done and haven't noticed anything without doing them.

Wow. Nice try man but your same logic string works in reverse.

You advocated for one product to the exclusion of others in your statement. I didn't choose your words, you did. Your statement was biased and without a shred of evidence other than your personal experience. Oh! Let us not forget this so called buddy of yours too. /sarcasm

Seriously man put your teeth away, you don't want to get into this. You misspoke, I get it and I apologize for calling you a fanboi if that wasn't you intent.

OCZ has no better reliability than a lot of others atm and less if you factor in some of the issues they have had with the Vertex 3's. That being said I have in dozens of past threads stated that the Vertex 2 is a good drive with great read and write speeds. I repeat Crucial, Corsair, OCZ, ADATA and many many others all make very good SSD's. The problems that exist with SSD's (like not being optimized for a windows OS and short-stroking them to increase longevity) are problems every manufacturer still has. Again OCZ is no better than many others, and you plugging for them without evidence of OCZ being better than another company comes across as a fanboi statement. To rephrase: claiming preference for one company infers a reason. And since your post clearly didn't provide evidence that performance is that reason... Yeah I think your done here.

never said ocz was better than anybody, infact in the section of text you quoted i even said that i acknowledge others have had great luck with them, and i have seen the benchmarks online.

putting this silly argument aside, getting a SSD (smartly, picking a solid brand and model with good reviews) is a great investment. If i had to pick between upgrading a gfx card or a hdd to a ssd (prior to having a ssd in said system), i feel the ssd is the better upgrade because it affects your base use of the computer, which is data read/write and boot times.

great choice. ive read pretty good reviews on the c300. its one of the fastest (if not fastest) out atm i do belive.

it *should* come with a cable for you, just gota have a spare sata power to give it life. if your worried if it comes with the cable, im sure there are unboxing threads/videos floating around to tell you.....

I don't think so. IIRC the Phantom supports 2.5" drives in all of it's bays. I think that was one of it's 'features' when it was released. As for the SATA3 cable, you will need one if you want to use it on a sata3 port at full speed. As I have some C300's lying around I can tell you that Tweak17emon is wrong, yours will not come with a cable.

Grats on your soon delivered SSD!
