Cooling Ideas?

What do you guys think? I'm looking for maximum cooling, I'll be going for <20db, ~40CFM fans paired with a fan controller. Cooling is for my sig rig.

Side panel will most likely be an intake for my GPUs, unless an outtake would be more suitable?

Nope, that's pretty much the way you want it. You want a little more intake then exhaust so that it will force air out of your case As long as you have some decent fans it will work just fine.

Will ~40CFM be enough per fan? 40CFM seems to be the maximum you can really get on 600-1000RPM silent fans.

You should check out the xigmatechs then, I bought 2 which I was unsure about but they are great, they are 60cfm in both 120mm and 140mm at only 19db. But 40cfm is probably fine I am sure.

Edit: Couple of links here for ya.

with those two roof fans, I would set the cpu cooler for bottom to top flow, exhausting out the top fans

that might interfere with the ram slots depending on the size of the cooler and the size of the heatspreaders on the ram sticks. It wouldn't make much of a difference anyways.

Looks good op! As you have it now, you have a good balance of intake and exhasust fans. Maybe consider a door window instead of door fans to keep this balance, and to show off your rig smile.gif

Xigmateck has nice/quite 140mm fans, and wow! just checked newegg for a link for you and there's a killer deal on these fans right now. $3 after rebate! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233037&cm_re=140mm_case_fan-_-35-233-037-_-Product
Gentle typhoons are great quiet fans that move decent amount of air. The GT 1450 rpm fan is whisper quiet while still pushing 50 cfm - http://www.frozencpu.com/products/10210/fan-654/Scythe_Gentle_Typhoon_120mm_x_25mm_Fan_-_1450_RPM_D1225C12B4AP-14.html

I'm neutral on the bottom intake, but I'd say get rid of your rear top fan, you rear grill and your rear fan. Then take your forward top fan and make it intake, to provide your heatsink with fresh air. Like this:

Beta_Evo_Quiet_Rig_02.png

If you have intake fan you don't need an exhaust fan if there is no rear grill. And with one fewer fan your rig is quieter.

Two top exhaust fans disrupt to airflow across your cpu cooler. And with one fewer fan (now a total of two fewer) your rig is even quieter.
