MSI P67A, Dark Rock advanced, Corsair heat spreaders

Hi all,

I've recently built a new PC using the MSI P67A GD55, Be Quiet Dark Rock Advanced and some Corsair RAM with massive heat spreaders...

Obviously the heat spreaders didn't fit uder the heatsink/ fan so I simply pointed the heatsink/fan towards the back of the case instead of down the way as I think you are meant to...

Is this a good idea for a non-overclocked PC? It seems to work fine but I can't afford to blow this thing sky high!

Regards

Boygor

If you were able to point the cpu cooler so that it blows the hot air straight out the back, then you're good to go! I actually like that configuration better than what amd builds stick you with (blowing air up) just for the ram heatspreader reason.

Welcome to OCN! be sure to fill out your system specs so we can all see what your working with

Phew - that's a load off my mind - the fan is pointing out the back of the case (it seemed the most logical choice) - thanks Bob! I'll fill out the specs later today... i'm actually at work and have been on the net for 2 hours so I better stop browsing for the time being
