2500k Cooling

Thread Starter
Hi - First post

I'm going to be running my 2500k at 100% usage for the next week non-stop and I currently use the Intel stock 1155 heatsink and after around 6 hours I'm at a constant 80C. I'm looking to buy a new heatsink so that it will be at a reasonable temp and noise level.

I currently have the P8P67 Pro Mobo along with the tall Vengeance Ram so I've got to make sure that it fits !!

What heat sink do you think I should get??

Cheers Sam

$30 will get you a Hyper 212+ which will be more than most people need (theyll max their OC on a 2500K well before the 212+ reaches its cooling capacity)

the Hyper 212+ heatsync makes zero decibels of noise. It's the fan that you attach which causes noise. The default Cooler Master fan that comes with it, however, is pretty damn silent!

212+ is about 30db at full speed, nearly silent at 50%

The NH-D14 Is quiet and the best. You can also easily raise the fan to clear the ram. The Noctua clip's are cool like that.

However that's more than twice the price as the 212+ so... If that can clear it then your good with that.

In the last hour the NH-D14 has gone on sale at Directron.com for $69.99
