i've had a pair of Sennheiser HD280's since September of 2007. they've been abused pretty regularly (thrown on the ground, etc.) and they don't have a single imperfection on them. i remember being surprised when i first heard of people getting cracks in their 555's and 595's since my HD280's are built like a tank.
