Yeah I always side with SLI when somone is seeking for performance boost because your HALF way there already and it's always more cost effective.

Unless it's someone that has a single card that died. Then take that leap in upgrade. The closest performance to two 470's you'd have to get a single GTX 580.

Honestly, there's really not a lot of games released in the past 7 years that don't have SLI support, and a large majority of those that don't ... you don't need SLI for anyways. Sometimes new games do come out w/out nV putting out an SLI profile though, which can be annoying. It's possible however in most such cases to get creative w/renaming the .exe or adapting other existing SLI profiles to work with it using nVInspector.

@OP Good call. Like I say, I love my 470 SLI setup. Perfect amount of juice for 1920 resolution. It ploughs through pretty much anything, totally maxed out.
