Keep them.

I don't think it's worth the hassle to start selling the cards. In the end you'll just be wasting a few more weeks without your 'powerhouse'. Besides you'll probably have less driver issues, more games will work on launch etc.

The latest OC3D review recommended the SLI 590 setup, they really liked it. And seeing that you are on a single screen (?) the 590 sounds even better.

You just gotta ask yourself what factors are most important to you and then make your decision.

Ditch the 590. 6990 is way faster with latest driver. The 590 can't keep up with the 6990, and it will get worst with every new drivers coming out. The 590 is a dead-end.
Oh please? Talk about real world perf I know you like your purchase so much but please stop spreading misinformation. You've done it in a few posts recently.

The 590 just got some new drivers that do the job very well, it's edging out the 6990 actually. It's not getting worse, it's getting better.

But don't we all know how well the previous ATI dual cards got driver updates and fixes after the next series launched, oh wait they didn't.

There is something seriously wrong with these scores, nearly 2000 points higher over another pair of 6990s that have 30MHz lower OC?

http://hwbot.org/submission/2179628_....71_dx11_marks

Edit:
Ah, he has no verification checksum url. This score is more than likely going to be deleted.

Well I don't doubt the 6990 is a powerful dual-gpu card, I sure would look at the other 6990 scores and make your decision off of that if benching was my primary concern.

The 590s are a "terrible buy" if you are looking at just overclocking for two fold, their VRM delivery isn't very robust, and secondly the drivers have the voltage adjustments locked to stock, whatever stock is. Only work around is flashing the BIOS to a higher stock voltage.

Performance wise @ stock though, they have a tendency to have very strong and reliable drivers, especially with the latest 275.33 drivers we just got released. Throw on the SLI Enhancement, whenever EVGA gets around to releasing the latest one, and you will have very competitive if not better performance than the 6990 CFX.

Either setup is overkill for just about everything game out there.

The 590s have a few pro's such as 3D Vision, Cuda, PhysX, OpenCL, and the 6990 is better at Eyefinity and DirectComputing (OpenCL.) I personally also prefer nVidias drivers, as they always seem more stable/robust and bring out the most potential of the cards, where as ATi/AMDs have always left me with a bitter taste in my mouth.

My advice would be to try them out, at least you can say you have owned/used a pair of 590s, and right now the "stock" is so low you will have no trouble selling them here or Ebay even opened.

Sell them new in box. If you are a bencher you would be better off selling them and grabbing three 580s.

Personally I would sell then ans grab some 6990s and throw then under water. They don't have the limiting overclocking that the 590 has.

For those of you saying why would you overclock. Why are you on thia site? The site is ocerclock.net... Seriously... Dell's website is ove younder go to that site if you don't want to overclock.

...just and FYI, if anyone is considering the whole, how loud they are, that has 0 importance to me, I have a custom ss phase that I run year round with my sig rig and trust me when I say there isn't a component out there that I would hear above that....LOL

I thought I saw in the news section today that they are making refined versions of this card(590s), if that's truly the case, I say get rid of them and wait a lil bit for them new ones.

not true.

E: well you can get the ASUS mars II but that'll run for the same amount of money as 2 590s... or at least close. But that is not a revision from nvidia.

What i'm wondering, is if you have all this money, why would you buy $1500 worth of gpu's and then use a phenom II? You may like amd as I used to, but your gpu's are massively bottlenecked by that processor. Unless you have a i7(x58) or a sandy bridge processor(p67/z68) both being heavily overclocked(4.2ghz+), you are wasting your money buying those gpu's. Just being honest.

Sell the 590's and get

Dual 580 lightning 3gb edition, or better yes, get 3 lightnings, way faster than 590's (at least better minimum framerate.)
Thread Starter
Basically, I want to make as educated of a decision as possible, facts/proof is greatly appreciated moreover opinions, although I do appreciate them as well.

My financial situation has changed since I purchased the 5970's, my wife and I now have twin daughters and she stopped working since the daycare costs jumped to $600/week. That being said, I am much more careful with my funds and started making better purchase decisions. In the past I most likely would not have made this post and would have just sold the 590's for what I could get for them on eBay and make up the difference on what I wanted to purchase.

Thanks for the comments gents, please keep the debate/advise going/coming.

That was before, please see above statement...LOL. I am looking to upgrade to AMD's BD when it releases if the performance is there, if not, I will continue saving for and Intel flavored setup.
