Or if your looking for instant satisfaction then get the least expensive "K" SKU chip. That would be the i5 2500k. That way you'll have head room pocket money for an IB chip. Just my two cents.
Pretty sure that intel is gonna have a new socket for the ivy chips, because of the 3D transistors.

1155 will still support some IB chips, just not the hexas and up. I'm not sure if the 1155 IBs will have tri gates, but they will be on a 22nm fab and should be pretty sweet. And, lets be realistic, most people won't be able to afford the price of the 2011 sockets either.

I didn't know a SB running 4.5Ghz to 5GHz or higher was "slow" and deemed so by the masses already... Boy technology upgrades fast!

All joking aside, most people don't even need the power SB has, and there is aways something better coming. SB offers awesome performance for a reasonable price compared to older Intel sockets as well as what AMD is currently able to offer.

Most people with SB chips sit at 4.5Ghz because its easy, and because its more power than they actually need already. If IB makes 5Ghz the new 4.5GHz those people sitting on 4.5Ghz aren't going to be any worse or better off than they were before because they've already got more power than they need.
