DoubleSight DS-275W Black 27" 6ms (GTG) Widescreen LCD Monitor 350 cd/m2 1000:1 vs a Dell UltraSharp U2711 Black 27" 6ms HDMI Widescreen LCD Monitor with PremierColor 350 cd/m2 80000:1

What do you guys think? Going to order the Double sight because I have this sneaking suspicion that its a dell re-branded.

does anyone have any experience with the double sight ips's?

I want a 27 inch with good colors and contrast. I usually play CIV 5 and Racing games, with limited FPS's(due to lack of replayabilty and I don't play multiplayer)

Guys got any other monitor suggestions? Will be ordering tonight from newegg or amazon.

edit: how bout this smaller size but half the price:HP ZR24w 24-inch S-IPS LCD Monitor link:[ame="http://www.amazon.com/HP-ZR24w-24-inch-S-IPS-Monitor/dp/B003D1ADUU"]Amazon.com: HP ZR24w 24-inch S-IPS LCD Monitor: Computer & Accessories[/ame]

24 inch er would be the absolute smallest I would go, really want the extra resolution of the larger monitors

The Dell is the same $ from every place that I look (~ $800) - I would take the dell any day over an unknown quantity. Even if they are a re-brand, they usually get the last pick of components so the screen might have more light bleed, etc.

Just my 2 cents smile.gif

Also why not go for a 30" monitor if you're already spending that much? You get a bit more space, and a slightly higher resolution, and 16:10 is a bit more functional in gaming than 16:9 IMO

Where you find the Dell for 800 listed on newegg for 1200 and 1000 on their website

And price is always a concern, especially with the wife looking over the shoulder! 30 inch is 300 more unless you know cheaper site

Well I bought this HP ZR30w Black 30" link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824176177R

Open box but same price as 27 Dell was told I could return within 30 days for refund.

Already sold out or I would of put it in the online deals section

Dell gives 25% discounts every few months. Or you can get the U2711's for low 800's from eBay resellers. They are basically people who have prof discount or something and resell them to you. Dell covers the warranty.

I got mine a few weeks ago for $825 from Dell. The extra resolution is amazing!
