1920x1080: Pixel Density?

Thread Starter
Would 24" widescreen LCD be fail for pixel density at 1920x1080 resolution? I have my monitors seated on a desk about arms length away from my body.

And if 24" is too big for that res, what size lower is the best to go with for my viewing distance?

Thanks,
My System

Uhm...
A 1080p monitor at 24' has 4 times as high pixel density compared to a 48' TV...
Though I rather have a 1920*1200 for that screen size.

I have a 24 at that res and it just fine. Don't forget that is as high as an 1080P tv in res. Depends on the brand really, it all comes down to panel quality.

IMO all LCDs have too low of a pixel density.

But 24" at 1920x1080 is fine.

24 should be fine. I went with a 23.6 inch monitor because of the low price and smaller dot pitch. though, i doubt i'd notice any difference between it and a 24 inch in image quality based just on screen size/pixel size difference.

Personally, i dont like the idea of using a 24" monitor that stand a arm lenght away.
24" is pretty big for PC monitor, especialy since you sit so close.

If there's a specific monitor you want to buy, check his Tech Specs and read his pixel denisty (PPI).

24" 16:9 is roughly as tall as your 17" 5:4 monitors, just wider. So it's not too big at all. It's the perfect size for a computer monitor IMO.

I'm with Eichi-Banzaiii on that. My 22" monitors are 1080, and for a 24" (or larger monitors) I would prefer 1920x1200 resolution. Pixel pitch @ 1920x1080 is just perfect for the sized monitors I have. Up to 23", 1080p would be no problem in my eyes (pardon the pun).

I wouldnt even think about anything other than a 16:9 monitor at this point.

Many new games coming out only properly support 16:9 resolutions (assassins creed, im looking at you)

1920x1200 is 16:10 monitor.

Also, I find LED LCD to be a huge upgrade over the conventional flourescent types.

But 1920x1200 can run 1920x1080 just fine.

I consider LED a downgrade, due to many issues, such as a blue tint and lots of backlight bleeding.
