Thread Starter
I just bought the Crucial C300 64GB SSD drive for a boot and am looking for a 2TB drive to complement it.

Thanks.

Samsung F4, large platter sizes so sustained read/write speeds will be similar to the F3 or Caviar Black. About $75 on sale.

That cracks me up. Nothing comes close to the 2TB Black... and the price reflects it.

Intel SATA controller? So it'll pass TRIM commands to the SSD, even with HDD RAID present? I'd lean towards 2x 1TB F3 RAID-0.

So as I because the F3s are on a good sale. If its just for storage, a power efficient WDC Green is also great.

For raw storage, I'd go Green. Can't beat the price per GB. Just fix up the Intellipark and you're good. It's $75 on sale at Newegg right now; the F4 is $80.

For slightly performance storage, I'd go with RAID'd F3's. Though if it's just for storage I wouldn't risk the data loss and I'd stick with a whole drive.

It is to be used in conjunction with the SSD per this post: http://www.overclock.net/ssd/664738-...secondary.html

I really like my F3's I have 2 in RAID 1 but you could easily RAID 0 them for 2TB of space.

My SSD will run drivers, games and some programs (like steam) and my HDD would be used for everything else including storage, programs, user folders ect....So I need a balance between cost, performance, and storage (I just keep movies, music, mods, addons ect...) nothing that I couldn't get again.
