MSI GeForce GTX 570 reference (not the twinfrozrIII)

Hi all,

I am new to these forums as a contributor, but have been reading for years.

I just bought the MSI GeForce GTX 570 non-frozr edition, and was wondering if someone could tell me their thoughts on how loud it is? Is it really 10dba higher than the twin frozr? I find that hard to believe.

I had a EVGA 570 HD, but that thing had a faulty fan not to mention half the exhaust in the back was blocked by extra display ports.

I bought the MSI because it was $299 on NCIX (319 minus free $20 gift card).

I've heard conflicting reviews from people on how loud it can get. I have excellent case cooling so I doubt I'll need the run the GPU fan much higher than 60%. How loud is it at that setting, anyone?

Thanks in advance.

Im sure if you keep it relatively dust free and arent running it for long times at 95+ gpu useage it wont be very loud.

I heard the frozr cooler is slightly louder at idle.

But the frozr is superior cooler, it just wont make much difference if you have a good case setup and arent trying to run 8xaa with v sync off at 120 fsp in latest games

With V sync on, you will probably never hear either card much at all.
