Still rockin the x48

Thread Starter
Hey guys

So i'm still old school and rocking the system down in my sig rig. I have tons of hobbys and really havent had the cash and time to upgrade. I really dont wanna upgrade anything but my vid cards and an SSD if i dont have to. But I wanna be able to max out all the games coming out especially (of course) BF3. I also wanna go triple monitor (1080p). So the big questions... would i be ok if I just upgrade thos 2 things and which card (or cards) and SSD? I was thinking 2 5950 cf and a vertex3? Would I be ok with that res and with all that old hardward. Gaming is mainly vid card anyways. Any suggestions ?

You really should be fine if you upgrade those GPUs. A 45nm high clocked quad should do well in BF3, since BC2 didn't really care about clock so long as you had a quad.

the 9550 @ 4GHZ is still a very relavant platform and with the proper cards and ssd will be very powerful.

6970 or 580 sli is the way to go and a vertex 3 will be very fast
