Thanks again everyone, you guys have been a great help.
I'd say a decent soundcard would definitely benefit the BX5as, and you most likely would tell a difference. That said, if you don't have the money just yet, they'll still sound quite good, assuming you don't have too much interference going on with your onboard.

Well I decided to splurge and get a pair of new Bx5a Deluxe's from that same Ebay store for $218. So it was just $18 more than the refurbs and I get 2 20ft XLR cables and piece of mind that my speakers are new lol.

Can't wait until they get here, especially since I went to Guitar Center today and listened to them. They sounded fantastic and had more bass than I was expecting.

Congratulations! I'm sure you'll enjoy them. They sound fantastic to my ears. The bass may not rumble my stomach or shatter my windows, but I find it perfectly audible and with sufficient "growl" for all my rock collections. Besides, if you ever do need any more for dubstep or whatever, you can always get a $100 sub hooked up and still get the fantastic mids/highs, though I'm certainly satisfied without one.

But anyways... enjoy!
