Antec 1200 vs HAF X vs Obsidian 650D

Hi all! Im a little bit of a newb here, I'm currently making my first build. So far some key highlights are: ASUS p8p67 pro, i5-2500k w/ noctua nh-d14, radeon hd 6950, and some ripjaw dimms.

Now it comes to picking out a case and I'm facing a dilemma. I was looking at the antec 1200, HAF X, and Obsidian 650D. My price range was originally $150ish but I've heard such great things about the HAF X and 650D that i'm reconsidering a little bit.

My chief concerns when it come to case are air flow and noise. Right after those two come looks. I've heard the HAF X has the best cooling out of the three, but I was wondering how the 650D and antec 1200 stack up. I'm planning to do a bit of overclocking, and want to keep my rig nice and cool. Also quiet.

As far as looks go I'd rate the 650D, then the antec, then the HAF. I like the subtlety of the former two, however the cable management/internals of the antec makes me lean more towards the looks of the 650D.

Also the dust filters are something I look for, that's why I'm not considering the HAF 932.

Nice rig stay away from the 1200 its not that good for cabling decent on airflow. I would def go with HAF-X, HAF 932, or 650D. Cant remember what the Corsair cases go for but they are nice to for cabling and airflow.

The 650D and HAF X are both amazing cases. They both are can fit your hardware and have exceptional cooling.

It's really just up to you to decide on looks and how much space you have because the HAF X is a good amount larger than the 650D.

Yea the HAF-X is full tower lots of room and the 650D is only mid tower iirc.

Thanks for the input! So the 650D is right up there in cooling with the HAF X? Also does anyone have experience with which one is quieter?

Size isn't a huge issue for me, though newegg says the HAF X only has an inche or two length and depth on the 650D despite being mid vs full. This translates to that much of a diff?

The HAF X can be a mini wind tunnel with all the fan options you have. It's also rather large and should fit just about anything you can throw at it with ease.

That said, it can be a dust magnet (get filters for any intake fans) and its design doesn't work for everyone as it's styled a bit more aggressive than most cases out there.

Depth and width and height are different things.

The width and height are much bigger on the haf-x I think.

As for the cases, I'd go with whichever suits you. I'm more for corsair than coolermaster, and I absolutely hate antec.

Both cases are good, but it comes down to mid vs. full tower. Mid go with corsair, full HAF X

Id personally go with Haf X, but its just me, I like to have lots of space in case. More space=better airflow,

The 650D is not as good as the HAF series in terms of AIR cooling (WC is a different story). If you like the look I would go the HAF 922/932/X route, as those are probably #1 in air cooling.
Your alternatives are Lan Lis and cases like the NZXT Phantom.

Also, Corsair's new cases are supposed to be out, they can be found here: http://www.corsair.com/cases/carbide-series.html
and look like an updated version of the Antec 300s.
