Not really, it was so widely used beforehand, it's like saying someone stole the idea of using a bucket to carry water.
You've obviously never used a Kinect. Voice & gesture control, video feed, live pictures, and whole body scanning all happening at the same time, ACCURATELY and well implemented... Is nothing like using your hands to put a card on a table for Eye of Judgement (THAT is the definition of gimmick)
You said it yourself... The WiiMote works for MOST Wii games... Not all. THAT IS HOW IT IS LIMITED. Also, the fact it only works for 3/4 of the games on the platform (if that)... And %50 of those have horrific controls that most would consider broken.
Not a revolution.
A stepping stone, yes... But not a revolution.
