Any other headsets besides AD700 under $100 for gaming? - Page 2

post #11 of 19
I just bought the AD700's and I wish I would have gotten the HD555's. I wanted them for music mostly though

I also have a set of Sennheiser HD 485's for sale if your interested. They are similar to the 555's but have stronger highs. They are a "Multimedia" Headphone so they are made for gaming and movies.

Please no Turtle Beaches. Please no G35 or Megalodon. The JVCs are good, but not as good. The M50 are great, but no so much for gaming. HD555 are great for gaming, but the soundstage is a little narrower.

I'd get M50s. gotta love them. They are fine for gaming, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Ad700s are a little better at it, but it's more than sufficent.

They have ALOT of bass and are just amazing in general.

But yea, be careful of fakes.

Superlux HD668B's are my vote. Many people who have owned both these and the HD555's have said that these are better for both gaming and music. These headphones are designed for studio monitoring, which allows you to hear the slightest details in your games such as someone sneaking up behind you with a knife in CS:S! Also, these headphones are relatively easy to run, and don't require an amp to sound great, like the ATH A700's...

Then just pair them up with the 's and you have one awesome headset!

That's part of the reason why they're kinda bad. The soundstage doesn't really come close to the AD700s, and the bass if anything is a distraction in games. Maybe the M50 can make them more "immersive", but it doesn't do much for positioning.

@stinky, stop it.

I just grabbed a pair of AD700's which should be here tomorrow so I can report back.
