Lock Down 2TB HDD?

Thread Starter
Is there any way i can basically secure my 2TB hdd? It is my storage drive for music, movies, pictures, drivers, etc; it would be nice if i could somehow secure the whole hard drive. That way if my computer becomes infected with a virus i don't have to worry about my storage drive being ruined. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks guys

It would be very unlikely that a virus would ruin your storage drive these days as the ones recently created are aimed to steal credentials. I am not sure how effective TrueCrypt would be at protecting against this type of stuff but that is the only thing I think would help. Another option would be only using the hard drive when you need to transfer files or want to watch a movie.

Ya i fix computer for a living and have never had a virus do that.
But it would be entirly possible for someone to make a virus do it, just wouldn't benifit the virus maker in any way.

You could right click on the drive and change the permission for all users to read and execute only, not sure if windows will let you do this or not though.

As far as i ruined i meant my files becoming corrupted. Anything i can use to block virus from being able to enter my hard drive?
