Thermaltake Challenger Keyboards

Thread Starter
It seems sorta sketchy. I know Thermaltake makes great power supplies and coolers, but I'm a little wary about a keyboard from them.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...tem=23-162-013

There it is. The fan is really gimmicky, so that's not really what I'm looking at. I'm more looking at the backlight with a lot of colors(I know, gimmicky, I love having a lot of different choices.), and the multimedia keys.

As of about 3 months ago my Saitek Cyborg keyboard got almost an entire can of Coke spilled on it, and it's ruined. Tried to clean it out, etc, ANYWAY. I really liked the keyboard, but I don't really want another one just like it. That's why I saw this.

I've checked out the G510, G19, Lycosa, and the Anansi already, and it doesn't really fit what I want. The Lycosa is the closest, and I didn't like the feel of the keys at all.

tl;dr Does anybody have/had the Challenger Ultimate and has a good/bad review of it?

If I ever move to Florida I'm getting a keyboard with a fan in it.

To be honest, I think this keyboard blows.

Is that a 'Haha Funny Ironic Joke here because it has a fan' or is it actually a bad keyboard?

Yeah yeah, that's just a gimmick. For me it's more about the backlight and anti ghosting for under $100.

Can't you just get a logitech g110 or something? I mean, these are all rubber dome so I think you have a lot of options.

Pretty much any rubber dome makes me sick to my stomach now a days though. As sad as that sounds.

For some reason I really like the way that keyboard looks haha. Only if it was mechanical =O
post #9 of 9
If you're going to be spending good money on a keyboard I'd really suggest you move to a mechanical, but that's just my opinion anyways.

Everyone has their own needs, so I can't really say a mechanical would be better for you, but it's legitimately a huge difference from rubber dome. They usually have less "features" though.
