[Exophase] EA Pulls Crysis 2 from Steam Store, Now ‘Only On Origin' - Page 19

I remember when BFBC2 went on sale in the EA Store.

Most of you went there and bought BFBC2, BC2:Vietnam and the SPECACT Kit.

Now they are the devil. Most of you will return for BF3.
No way are you going to miss the best PC title this year, a dedicated PC title.

Guess what? CoD:MW3 will be on Steam, have fun with that $60 crap.

I fail to understand how you can be with fine with steam being thrust on you for game after game, with sometimes multiple forms of DRM. But suddenly Origin, or EADM as it was previously known is the devil for trying to make itself a better product, and connect all EA products together, rather than individual games.

steam and origin are the same thing, only one was started a long time ago. Does that mean that others should not exist?
I never once said that Origin is a bad thing. I welcome the ability to choose where to buy my games. But making such a blockbuster hit such as BF3 (or Crysis 2) an Origin Exclusive game is stupid. They should allow us to choose where we buy it at.

Again, I have no problem at all with Origin in general. Just with them making great games exclusive to it, and forcing us to use their software to play it.

oh man its so rough.

click start, click battlefield 3 shortcut. Then origin opens up, and then battlefield 3 opens up.

That is so much more complicated than using steam.

Click start, click dawn of war 2. Then steam opens up, and then dawn of war 2 opens up.

Good god that was tough, complicated, i had trouble handling it.

Actually, for me Steam loads at startup. I just double click the Steam icon, and I can pick any game installed on my computer. It's all right there.

Icons don't always show up in the start menu. I'm sure I can find several games of mine that DO NOT create a start menu shortcut.

This! OMG this! LOL.

For me, I just tap my Games button on my Sidewinder and, wow, there are my games. Click on it and it loads. I just don't get the problem here...

I don't really care if I have to run some foreign amateur coded launcher to play BF3. They're still getting my $60.

THIS THIS THIS. I remember when I bought a boxed copy of Demigod (crap game) and Impulse installed and wanted to go through all of its crap. I uninstalled it and put it on the shelf. I have over 400GB of Steam games. If they game doesn't come to Steam, it is a non buy for me for lots of reasons. In game browsing, chatting, voice, friends list, etc etc etc.

Note to developers and publishers, there are a lot of people who only buy games from Steam.

Now where are your friends to invite that you have accumulated over the years in your Steam Friends List because they certainly aren't in this "Origin".... People can say this isn't a big deal but its a HUGE deal to a lot of people. 400+GB (88 games) and a couple hundred pals that I game with weekly is a huge deal. If I can't buy it on Steam, its a no go. If I can get the boxed copy and it not force Impulse, Origin, Etc on me then fine but I refuse to install another game download client for ONE game.

Ask someone on XBOX Live whos accumulated thousands of points, friends, indie games and such to install a third party app and essentially lose all that and see how happy they are. (this obviously cannot happen but you get the point.)

steam used to start up automatically, but i disabled that, i dont need it running unless im playing a game on it.

Same goes for all kinds of other programs.

I add my own shortcuts, that way they are always there.
