Cause clicking on one icon to play your game is so hard.rolleyes.gif

It's not just as simple as that. Some people have friends! A few of my friends I tried really hard to encourage them to start PC gaming who now have Steam accounts. It's nice playing the same/different games and still being able to chat to each other. If I'm playing 1 or 2 of the exclusive games on Origin I won't be able to talk to my friends that easily.

Another thing! Most PC users don't like clutter. It's why most enthusiasts completely format their HD when they get a new laptop. Having another client that more or less does the same thing to a lesser affect is not practicle.

did they seem to pull a lost of ea titles off steam for pre-order just now or was it just me?

If EA makes all new releases Origin exclusive, that will lead them to dictate whatever price they want to sell it at, and i doubt they'll have it at bargain prices since they will have no one to compete against.

A must buy day one!

Oh no, I may have to reconsider
Well if they do that I'm not buying

.....developer may announce changes or not

Well, I wait until it comes out for reviews, if it's good then I'll buy no doubt.

.....game releases

I'll wait until the price drops.

.....Proceed to pirate game then, if feeling generous, wait until a sale somewhere and buy the game more than 50% off MRSP.

Way to support PC gaming guys. rolleyes.gifrolleyes.gifrolleyes.gif

Corrected that for you.

EA can't and won't pull HL2, portal, L4D, ETC. VALVe owns the games and can publish them on steam for however long they want. EA only has rights to physical distribution.

On another note; I'f i can't get a game on steam, I either don't get it at all or get the PS3 version.

This is crazy and selfish! I can see why they are doing it to maximise profit but it hurts the customer! I love steam and want all my games in one place and patched from one place.

Steam has a huge following and this will make a lot of people mad. IMO they will lose more money by doing this than larger profit they though they'd make by being the only direct download l distributors.

I listed EA also, they make their own games, why they can't exclusively sell them like Valve does?

on a multiple choice test, if a is the answer and you pick b and a, it doesnt mean you're right. shows you dont have an understanding.

We wonder why devs don't support PC gaming, and the gamers don't support the platform themselves.
Quick to refuse purchasing games and expect devs to continue to pour money in the platform.

Even when a great game is made for PC, the whiners come out to play.

dice, valve. need more pc supporting devs? id?

All the EA games I have through origin dont even need origin to be open at all to run, These are Crysis 2, Dragon Age 2, Mass effect 2 etc.
To be honest I think at the minute I could even uninstall origin and these games would work fine as when clicking the shortcuts for said games it doesn't open origin or make me log in to it or anything.
Not quite sure what the problem is at the minute as far as I can tell it hasn't got any DRM features built into it at all for current games and is more like a download manager with a friends list and store.
The above games weren't added retail or anything they were originally purchased though it in the first place.
