[Exophase] EA Pulls Crysis 2 from Steam Store, Now ‘Only On Origin' - Page 7

so what if u dont get acheivments. it probably woulnt have it anyway because BC2 didnt have it, and i bought that from steam.
and you still get steam overlay, so whats the fuss? i did that with BF2 and crysis 2 and they work fine.

you guys are pathetic!
Because that's one more program I have to have running, that's one more login that I have to remember, and if its anything like Steam, it won't work through another program. You can't open any Steam games without Steam running. So if Origin is like that, it'll have to be running.

Again, no thanks. If its not on Steam (or a retail disc that I can link to Steam), I won't buy it. Period.

Not really. If it comes down to being forced to use a digital distribution service some people are not going to want to be bothered by maintaining multiple accounts with multiple services. I know I won't use their crappy, in my opinion, service.
Why not get it retail? It WILL come out retail. But saying "Oh..its not on steam so I won't buy it no matter how good the game is". That's just plain asinine.

Problem is, people here are bashing a huge company for making a business decision. In some ways its smart, in some ways its not. Another issue is people are afraid of change.

No, it's not. I installed it, and even gave it a trial run with BC2 (key copied from steam). Works fine. Faster than steam too, wouldn't you know. Most who are bashing it are basing it off their experiences with EADM.

If retail DVDs were a strong market, then services like Steam wouldn't be so successful...

Just saying.

Looks like some other titles are going this way. They are forcing the issue one way or another.

I will join this boycott/petition.. Someone link it, or start it..

If BF3 is not on steam. I will stop PC gaming.. yeah I said it.
Last I checked, I had 71 games in my Steam library.

I don't want to have to run a different client to manage a couple of games. I want to run Steam, because of my digitally owned games, this is where they all are. A year from now, I don't want to have to sit there and think, "wait, was this an EA exclusive, or was it a Steam Summer Sale...?"

For those that say "well, just buy Crysis 2 and BF3 on Origins, not that hard to remember..." I say: You just proved my point. I shouldn't have to use a different service because the publisher is being greedy. And yes, I will use my dollar in order to state my opinion.
