OCZ now uploading 2.08 firmware for Agility/Vertex 3 SSDs - Page 6

Got my drives 2 days ago...and they BSOD..

OCZ Solid 3 60GB

I'm so disappointed. NCIX will probably remove fees and stuff..If I can get a refund, I'm clearly doing it and going for a better, smaller, what ever drive that will work. I can't get BSODs when I use this computer for school projects and more.

Will wait till new firmware:

Sit tight guys, new FW has been in test all weekend. If the results are favorable, we should have a release on Monday, at the latest Tuesday. We are pushing really hard for Monday.
The forum staff and beta testers have all been working this weekend along with SandForce and OCZ in San Jose.

All I can ask for is patience until then.

Happy Fathers Day.

I feel bad for everyone having problems with the Vertex 3's. I've had mine for over a month now and so far it's been perfect as my boot drive but I'm always expecting something to go wrong at any time. It's not a good feeling. I hope you guys get these problems resolved.

PS. I've never ran a secure erase on it or update any firmware. I've been running it out of the box since I got it.

I tried using the OCZ Toolbox to get the version but it doesn't detect my drive. Is there another way I can find the firmware version I'm using? This is my first ever SSD so this is all new to me.

Bad cables can cause problems. However, it would be strange for everyone's faulty Sandforce 3 SSD to suddenly have faulty cables.

There is no electrical difference between SATA cables. SATA "1.5 Gbps" cables are the same as SATA "3.0 Gbps" cables and SATA "6.0 Gbps" cables. SATA-IO only specified one version of cable. The cables have remained the same for all generations of SATA controllers.

Hahahaha!
Though it's true bad cables can cause problems, the statistical probability here is pretty low considering the number of users with problems. I use two SATA-6Gbps cables supplied with my motherboard - one for the SSD and another for the HDD. Neither of these cables has ever given me trouble, particularly on the OCZ Vertex 2E 120GB SSD I used to have and the Crucial M4 128GB SSD I have now. Strange that the Vertex 3 was the only one with problems!

That post doesn't state that those are the issues, it is them reminding us that cables could be at fault and don't overlook them.

In fact, I thought my Corsair 800D backplanes were bad. I put an RMA to have them replaced. Turned out it was the Sata cable that was bad.

It happens....

Just out of curiosity, can you read? Look what he says in the very post you are referring to:
