I'm running firmware 2.02 on my OCZ Vertex 3 240GB and it's been flawless so far.

I don't blame anyone for steering away from OCZ drives at the moment. Like I posted earlier, everything is fine now but in back of my mind I'm expecting something to go wrong at any time. I really hope not.

a lot of people here are saying that 2.02 worked fine for them and the probs are caused by the new FW. why not just flash in 2.02? is it available from OCZ?

i just got my first BSOD on my v3 240gb (FW 2.11) last night and having read all this i'm just returning to the store to get full refund and buying an m4.

Thread from the dead!

Gib007 has sent his drive back to OCZ for a full refund and bought the Crucial m4.

Here we are two months later and OCZ / Sandforce still hasn't solved the problems. Yet Sandforce is selling this controller to all the other drive makers for their ssd's.

i cant return the ssd (no money back, got a replacement instead) - so i'm stuck with it for now. plugged in on sat, bsod on sun (fw 2.06). very envious of gib007 esp after this:
http://www.tomshardware.com/news/cru...ate,13314.html

aaaanyway, something i was thinking about... my v3 is connected via native sata3, but in bios it registers as IDE. Is this correct? I have tried to make some changes to the bios to force it to AHCI (I dont know what I am doing tbh), but still registers as IDE

any ideas?

Got my Vertex3 yesterday. Install went fine, and so far it seems to be working great. It came with 2.11 firmware, so I didn't do anything other than a format in W7, then install of W7, and switching to AHCI after that.
Guess we'll see how it goes.
