Is EA pulling games from Steam? - Page 5

Steam is the biggest digital distribution company, why even fight against them instead of working together and make it better?

EA has a very bad reputation already. Pulling games off Steam will just make it alot worse.

The latest titles from EA clearly shows that they have rushed the productions of many famous titles such as Crysis 2, Dragon Age 2 and many others.

Kinda seemed obvious to me this would be the case the day they announced a Steam competitor. BF3 is just the game to do it with too, can't say I blame them but lets see if they can keep up with Steam sales and popularity.

Considering EA kept some players from their games when suspending their forum accounts, would you trust them with a library of games?

I wouldn't.

...also, I wouldn't be surprised if EA just put a "Kick Me Lulzsec" sign on their own backs.

In 5 years if Eidos launch their own games service everyone will be saying "Why even bother? I am so used to Origins now and have over 30 games on it. I will just boycott all of Eidos games from now on...Apart from Hitman 7".

apparently so. went on steam, type in crysis, and no return of crysis 2 pops up, only the first one.

I don't see the problem. More competition in the digital market will mean price wars, which can only be good for the end consumers. The only problem is you have to deal with having multiple download clients installed. Big deal. Most people already have tons of junk games and software installed. Origin, AKA EA Download Manager re-branded, has a small footprint and doesn't even require to be ran in the background to play games downloaded from it.

In this case the consumer "might" benefit from the competition but as the gamer we will lose, and plus I dont like hearing about peeps losing their library of games because a mod didnt like what they had to say about EA.

Exactly. I was banned from the steam official forums long time ago yet I still have all my games and friends list so steam understands that they don't have that right which they don't. Someone payed lots of money for their games, you can't just steal them away from them(that is what in that situation it is). I have close to $1000 - $1500 worth in games on steam, I would go to court if I just wasn't allowed to them all of a sudden.

EA did not pull the title... Steam removed it.

Difference being is that Valve/Steam in general is pretty good, and EA doesn't have the greatest track record (install limits, banning accounts for bad reasons etc). People don't trust EA.
