Steam is the one causing problems :/

Good thing everyone rashly jumped to steams defense since apparently they are the gods of PC gaming or something.

I bought crysis2 from amazon downloads for $30, it was $50 on steam. Steam is cool and all, but not always the best price.

this could be a good thing if.....

someone creates a publisher agnostic game client. This game client does all the stuff we currently associate with steam, but it is linked in to every individual gaming store. So for instance, you can choose to look at the steam store, or the EA store etc. But all of the games you buy from any location are all kept in this one client. This way everyone is kept happy.

It could even have cool features like, just before you buy a game, it flashes up saying the EA store is cheaper than steam or vice versa and tells you to go buy from the cheaper store.

this way we could all get more choice, lower prices

I m feeling extra smart today

So far I have only one concern about this whole Origin thing. I wonder whether it will be required when you buy retail boxed copies of EA games, or just an alternative to digital purchases via Steam.

I'm actually moderately impressed by Origin. It runs really well and has a slick interface. I will still buy BF3 even if it runs off of Origin. I don't think it will be that big of a deal to have to have it and Steam open at the same time.
