Ram freqs low?

Thread Starter
I am running Corsair XMS 1600 8gb ( 2 sticks) with a AMD X6 Phenom 1100T and my ram freq in "Speccy" are showing at 666Mhz, shouldnt they be running higher? I cant figure out how to change the multiplier in Asus's Bios. My mobo is Asus M5A88-V EVO.

does that show in bios.. are all settings set to auto and whats your cpu clocked at
post #3 of 17
im pretty sure its normal, mine are clocked at 1600, cpuz shows 800 4:1 ration, which kinda makes sense, i see on alot of peoples validators, cause i look at pretty much all of them, that they all have the same kind of ratios.

also, it could be because of some sort of engery saving mode, where the ram is only running at what it needs to be

My G.Skill only runs at 1333MHz too, unless I set it to 1600MHz manually. You'll have to do that.

maybe its running at 666 to save energy, or you have everything set to "auto" so it just clocks it to what it needs, see what cpuz says, if it says 800 4:1 then you are fine, look at my validator for example

As far as I know, RAM doesn't/can't downclock like that to save energy.
