Just received DAS keyboard professional S silent from newegg...very confused! - Page 2

I would be pretty upset as well, however, newegg has been nothing but world class in their customer service.

I'm sure if you called them and explained the situation they will take care of you.

I got off the phone with a newegg cust rep who sounded like like a foreigner from a 3rd world country. We could not seem to understand each other at all...and she denied me an advanced RMA.

Going to drop them an email to see if they will let me get an advanced rma again...its not my fault that the past 3 keyboards i have recieved were all not up to par to what I paid for.

I 100% agree...i was being too extreme yesterday, and it was totally unwarranted.

I am taking a minute to gather myself before calling them back right now to plead for another advanced RMA...theres no way im going to be left without any keyboard of any kind while waiting 1 1/2 weeks for this one to ship to cali from nj.

That's probably one of my keyboards.

I RMA'd two of them to Das before giving up.

I was careful to send back the little blue microfiber cloth. You'll need it.

I've been a newegg customer since 2004 and have never had a problem with them that couldn't be easily resolved by just talking with them. They have excellent customer service!

To add... my Das Keyboard Professional Silent is coming today... and I bought the sale... And yes it is more than the website or amazon, however living in NY, I don't have to pay sales tax that I would have most likely have paid from those other 2 sellers. It would have evened out anyway in the end so I figured I would give Newegg the business.

I just hope my keyboard doesn't end up like the one got, but my luck has been pretty good thus far with every product I have purchased for personal or office work at my IT job.

Finally, just take a chill pill, watch some TV, and let newegg handle the issue.

Ur overreacting quite a bit. Realize that Newegg doesn't inspect the inside of all their products. Although, I agree that they should notify you if they are going to send you a photographed model, but still, you are getting a brand new keyboard. The Razer issues are Razer issues, not Newegg. Many people have bought new Razer LED keyboards that have broken lights.

That sounds slightly racist. Please calm down. It's just a keyboard and you continue to buy from them even though u were unsatisfied, so it's partially ur fault.

My apologies for that bad comment I made earlier, I judge people based on their own merit, not their inheritance of genetics. I edited my post, you're right its a wrong thing to say, and it came off very rude.

Heres what went down today...

So I called that first rep, who had a very heavy spanish accent. I dont mind accents but this lady was being really rude and snappy to me (maybe she was having a bad day?) I was explaining to her that the lights on the razer blackwidow were not working under some of the keys, and she couldn't understand what i meant at all by it.

She made me a shipping label for the razer bw, and then hesitantly I proceeded to start telling her about the Das keyboard that I want to exchange.

She said I have to ship it to newegg first, and only then will i get my replacement. I asked her right away if I can give her my credit card number for an advanced rma...she said no way..and that advanced RMA is a ONE TIME DEAL per customer.

After that convo i came here and posted my previous post, called newegg again...this time I got some young girl who was extremely helpful.

I explained to her the situation, and offered to show her pictures that I have posted here for proof. She said she takes my word for it...

Not only did she give me an advanced rma without a second thought, she made the replacement go out with next day shipping, which I was very surprised over.

She also voided and corrected the previous cust rep's mistakes, because apparently that lady prior made me a Refund rma for the das keyboard when I obviously wanted a exchange.

I feel dumb for overreacting, but no one knows what it feels like to get a string of consecutive back to back bad luck occurrences that seem like something out of a sadistic comedy.

I am going to stick it out with newegg, because despite my complaints about the actual products (none of which is newegg's fault, except for this das keyboard warehouse mixup), newegg actually play's their role excellently. I dont think I have ever seen such great customer service from an online retailer...give or take 1 bad apple

Hopefully this will be good for anyone else dealing with the egg...if one cust rep doesn't satisfy you, call again a few minutes later

Call centers are unpredictable, if you don't like what you hear, just hang up and call again until you do. Theres no point in banging your head against a wall in the process.

Newegg has pretty good customer support for what they offer. I can tell you one thing though, I am NEVER buying a open box GPU again. Sent them back after both failed at stock clocks inside of a week (they were both refurbs from MSI that were previously blown up) and went out and bought two brand new ones from microcenter.

I want to turn this thread to a positive note...

The das keyboard professional S silent, even in the used and worn state that I have it in, is ZOMG SO AMAZING! In my opinion it totally blows the blackwidow ultimate out of the water, hands down.

Even on this used/returned/etc. version that I am typing on now, EVERY single key is exactly the same identical high quality feel. This is in stark contrast to the razer blackwidow ultimate in which BOTH of my brand new boards had some keys that felt great and others that were dull, and a few more that felt borderline poorly installed and mushy.

The cherry brown switches are just so much better than the blues, even for typing in my opinion. Truth be told, I have not tried the das professional S standard version...and I suspect that I am enjoying the board so much because of the very exceptional build quality in comparison to the blackwidow.

I would even be so bold as to say I would have kept this das keyboard knowing its condition, but the board has too obvious signs of cosmetic wear and tear. That big smudge above the arrow keys that you see in the pictures I posted cannot be removed. It is actually the glossy coating having been worn off from months of heavy use, or possibly improper cleaning.

Just FYI, the das keyboard box had no seals of any kind on it when it arrived. No tape covering the little slit that opens the box, nor any plastic cover surrounding the box itself like the razer products do.

To everyone here who does have a DAS...how does it arrive when it is brand new? Is there any QC seal on it, like covering the slit that opens the box?

I will be getting my replacement hopefully tomorrow, or worst case scenario after tomorrow, so better believe my OCD scrutiny will be fully primed.

I checked the pics out, looked pretty minor to me. I'm no real perfectionist and hell, I'd probably do worse to the keyboard over the course of its usage with me. If the keyboard worked fine and great as advertised and I liked it I wouldn't even complain. Newegg hasn't been great to me but I'm just the kind of person where if I buy something and it works as described and I'm satisfied by it, I keep it.

I remember I ordered a case from newegg and it looked like it had been dropped or something. The whole side was dented in on the motherboard tray. I was bummed and wasn't looking forward to RMA it, so I just hammered it out and everything worked fine. I was satisfied by the case it was a really nice one for my matx build. All that's left is a tiny little chink from the dent on the edge but really I'm not that picky.

Just my 2 cents
