It should be a big difference from onboard to dedicated, but I can't say for sure as I don't have a functional soundcard at the moment. You could always bite the bullet for one.
As for the microphone, I heard that logitech one is great.
You can also make a removable boom mic as Fragtality
http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/...0-boom-mic-mod
with any old headset or a cheap one off some site.
Since the AD700s are open, it might very very very slightly have different sound (not necessarily bad) but you probably won't notice a difference at all.

I also saw some guys mod they're headphones to have a mic in jack on their headphones and get a $3 flexible mic on Amazon to attach to it.
You probably wouldn't go that far though.

EDIT: Fry's suck, but its the only computer store I have.
It's in San Jose. Right off the freeway (I forgot which one, but I think it is 101).

Also, Fry's isn't bad. They price match anything online. If something is cheap on Amazon or NewEgg, I just go there and they price match it for me .

Thanks for the info as well, Repped.

In San Jose?! Holy whack, I could've saved so much money on my build.. D:
I have no one to drive me there so the chances of me going are probably when my uncle comes over.

Fry's price matching is amazing. The store itself is alright, but its just the f--king employees.

Kind of a boring story, but its just shows how bad they are.
The other day my uncle went to Frys to look around. He ended up buying a Athlon II quad-core and some motherboard for $150. He went to the cashier to print out the paper thing. But before he bought it, the cashier asked him if he had every single component. He kept giving my uncle discounts on almost every computer part such as a new cooler, harddrive, psu, case, upgrade of RAM, and so many other things. He just kept asking and asking. My uncle finally got pissed of waiting, he put on his angry-ish face. The cashier immediately processed his purchase.
Another thing while he as looking at the camera lenses, there were a couple of girls trying to price match Costco. The employee kept saying she was not sure if she could price match, etc, etc. And she kept reassuring them that they have the lowest price. It just dissapoints me when they do stuff like that, because that just loses them sales.

Too long; didn't read
They're prices and items are great
but their service aren't.

Don't get me started with Fry's employees. I was there a month ago waiting 30 minutes for them to get my 6870 TFII from the back warehouse, and 45 minutes later (I stood there for 45 minutes...) he comes back with a HD 5450... I was so pissed I literally left the store and bought it from Microcenter.

I'm still laughing from that dude.
I can't believe you stood there for 45 minutes!!
Dude that's just unbelievable.
I would've probably left after 15 minutes.
Awhh, that sucks!

On a side note: 34 rep. WOO. I'm gonna put like 3 threads in the forsale section.
