1100t power state question

Thread Starter
I just installed a 1100t to replace my 720be and I noticed that (at least according to AMD overdrive) none of the cores seem to drop down below 3300mhz. Is there a setting that I'm missing somewhere or is this normal for these chips?

Check Asus site for bios support for 1100t or 1090t, see if you have that or newer bios. Check Bios if you have Turbo Core setting. Cool N Quiet is the software equivalent of Turbo Core. So you don't need CnQ when you have 1100t.

PS: More info. Turbo Core is regulated by cpu itself where CnQ is regulated by performance options of OS. People tend to disable CnQ and enable Turbo core for max performance because software is always slower than hardware

I had to upgrade to the most recent bios in order for the mobo to even recognize the processor. Enabling cool n quiet allows the processor to drop all the way down to 800 mhz, but there doesn't seem to be a setting for the turbo core. I'm not entirely sure how that will affect overclocking.

It could be called TCB or something like that or CPB (core performance boost). On my gigabyte board it was called Turbo CPB and now on my new asus it's just called Turbo

You're gonna wanna disable that when you start to OC. If it's left on auto, it will offset itself to whatever your OC is. Right now it should be 3.8. If you raise your multiplier it will raise the turbo boost also and you're not gonna want that.
