Trying to get my overclock up...

Thread Starter
Im now at 3.7 ghz with a 1.40 voltage. My temps get to around 52c per processing core, around 58c for the chip during prime95.

What little tricks can I employ(using AMD Overdrive) to get this number higher without burning my cpu.

Mess with the ref clock? Memory? Tell me what these do and I will try to use the knowledge to the best of my ability

Yes I believe 90% of everyone has known how to get into bios.

What I mean by elaborate is how is it better than in AMD overdrive, and what options should I mess with, and what do they do. Example; Core Voltage= Raising this value tends to make higher overclocks more stable, but in return, a lot of heat is produced. You need to find a nice medium between Heat and Performance..

Before I used AMD Overdrive I turned of Cool n Quiet in the BIOS, should I have done that?

Any help is GREATLY appreciated and will be repped.

Yes, it's better to turn off Cool N Quiet to receive consistent ratings in programs such as CPU-Z.

After you're done with the overclock turn it back on. No reason to have your clocks at 4ghz while idling.

Overclock in BIOS, because if you use a program, the program will save the settings in the BIOS while it is running, producing less efficient results.

Stay under 1.55v for Vcore and 62c for cores. You should raise NB frequency to 2600-2800, because it will yield much better results than core frequency.
