Mobo has lights but will not power on

This is my 3rd R3E. My original went bad after 6 months and the second was DOA. I finally got this one up and running on Saturday and I left it on last night with my GPUs running the unmentionable program. Anyways I woke up for work and went to check on it today to find it off. It will not turn on. Here's where I have questions:

When the psu is plugged in all the little status lights power up, but I cannot get the board to power up. I mean trying the power button on the case and the start button on the mobo had no effect. I even pushed in a paperclip to try and jump it to no avail. Has my PSU failed? And if not what else can it be?

I removed everything from the board but the CPU, one ram stick, and the power cable but nothing. Thanks for any help!

You pushed a paperclip in the PSU, or the on swith on the MOBO? If PSU and it still didn't do anything, then yes your PSU is dead.

The PSU of course. And if it is the PSU is dead, why does it light up the passive lights on the mobo. I don't mind replacing the PSU with a better model if that's the case. I'm just wondering why

You are just seeing Standby Power Voltage 5VDC, at minimal current for the circuits and sensors needed to send or receive a remote signal (PWRON) and LED status lights.

When you turn on your computer your power supply may sense an internal problem, 12V rail overcurrent for one example, it will fail self-test and refuse to power up.

BTW, I am unclear exactly what you have done so I am not stating your power supply is in fact bad.

I had come to the same conclusion. =/ It seems thats the purple cable as it is the only one with voltage. Bah how did this happen haha. Anyways I already initiated an RMA with Kingwin and ordered a second OCZ PSU today.
