I need a new 360 mic

Anyone know of a cheap yet dependable mic I can order online? I've now gone through 3 standard Microsoft mic's and it's a shame because I take care of my things. They just.. die.

My first one died in a month but the microsoft one i have had now for 3 years lol. I suggest you get either another or a gaming headset. I think you can get a cheap pair of turtle beaches for $50. Although i used to have a pair and the mic broke after about 4 months. Then i got tritians and the left speaker stopped working after 2 months. So i was left with my microsoft one that still works now. Also, on some controllers the mic refuses to work after a while due to constant plugging and unplugging, so that could be your problem.

What is broken about your mic? Is it not showing up on chat? Is the speaker not working? Is it making a weird noise when plugged in? Is the voice not going through?

I bought a pair of Turtle Beach X11's from Best Buy over a year ago. They're still working like new. If you take care of your things then definantly go for a pair of these. They're I think $60 at Best Buy and you can probably buy them for cheaper on another site. If your not familiar look up videos of turtle beaches. They're not only good for chatting with friends/ whoever, but they improve your game A TON! You may ask how? But in summary, sound help you know where you enemies are! Good luck

Get a Microsoft wireless headset. Those things are actually really freaking durable. It saves you a lot of headache, and $50 isn't a lot of money.

Stay the hell away from Turtle Beach X11's unless you like listening to the sound of static and absolutely no sound staging. I recommend the Sharkoon X-Tatic SP for $49.99 on Amazon. Pretty decent sound staging for the price, and the microphone is removable. Control pad is really nice as well. These are probably the best you can get under $80. After that, the Tritton AX720 is the best. It comes with a Mixamp and supports DDSS 5.1, and supports PC, Xbox 360, PS3, and DVD players. It costs $129.99 but you really get what you pay for. Excellent sound staging and sound quality, perfect for streaming netflix and FPS gaming. Microphone is also removable. Control pad is pretty cool.

Lolwut? The X11's are great. ZERO static unless you have chat volume all the way up, even then there isn't much static. I've also heard nothing good about Trittons, shoddy quality and no better than the TB X11. I can hear everything and figure out almost exactly where the other players are from the sound alone. OP, if you want a good cheap headset that does the job well, get the X11s.

Thanks, I think I will try a turtle beach x11. I'll get through newegg so I can always RMA or refund. The reviews are kind of like comrade and crosbys reviews here. Some have it and its 100% awesome, others have it and it sucks.

We'll see

oh and it'll be a week untill I order so I'm staying tuned for any other recommendations in the mean time.
