Triple Channel Ram?

Thread Starter
I have a question, I bought a two DIMM Corsair Vengeance set of RAM for a sandy bridge build. *As this delivery came in today i found that I'm going get a good deal on a 990x. My question is, can I keep what I ordered and add another stick of Vengeance RAM (Same timing and Latency) or do I have to *buy a triple channel set? I was also researching and found that the dual-channel set had the same latency and timings and voltage as the triple channel set. Any feed-back on problems I may run into, by adding another stick of the same RAM to make it like a triple-channel set. It would be appreciated. One more question, is it better to have a triple channel set that's manufactured together rather than buying two plus one.

The biggest problem you're likely to run into is finding that single matching stick. I don't think there is any difference between double and triple channel kits besides the number of sticks.

You should be all good with another set. Just make sure that they both have the same rev./ver.
