I did not enjoy it. I thought it was slow and repetitive. That being said, I am not a big RPG/MMO fan. If you dont particularly like RPG/MMO games, wow is nothing special.

Yeah, RIFT is another one to check out since it's a lot newer and easier to catch up in. There's no expansions yet so by far cheaper too.

It has comparison's to WoW in most of the gameplay, from what I've heard anyway. I know it's different in it's own way though.

WoW is, I feel, one of the MMOs so ingrained into the world that it should probably be marked a "classic" at this point. It will probably never die, or cease to draw revenue.

When I played it, I only hit about 60 before giving up. Without friends with me, I felt it was a tad on the boring side.

However, it should be noted that many people (including me) believe that the game truly begins once you hit the maximum level. Then you can...do all those fancy raids/quests/what-have-you.

I will say that the constant warring between the two factions is incredibly drawing...I apologize for all those that I've ambushed and killed wrongly

If you are a newcomer I wouldn't bother at this point. Wow's heyday is long gone.

I'd say with a few others have said, check out the 30 day trial. It's not a bad game if you can make a few friends and get into a good guild. Leveling is definitely much easier and if you have the time you can probably hit 60 in a few days. Just check out the trial and if you end up liking it, subscribe for the summer so you'll have something to occupy your time Also, as others have mentioned, play in moderation. It will be more enjoyable that way.

If there is a trial...why are you asking us? Take a spin for 30 days and you decide. Everyone is different. Personally, I don't get into that stuff much. I played a trial of EVE online and it was fun, but I didn't want to spend $15 a month on the game play.

I used to be heavy into the game but now it's boring to me and since Cataclysm came out, it's turned me into a casual player. I only log on to do a random heroic, my dailies, and 2's until point cap(once a week).

Its like anything else that doesn't have a definitive end i suppose, its fun if its used as intended, but you always have 'those' people that are compelled to take everything too far lol.

Great competitive game, stands out from the crowd because of the combat system imo fast-paced tactical (bit less so of late), and great fun to see high crits on other players.

Too bad you didn't check it out about 07' tho when it was in its prime, was amazing ^^
