Is World of Warcraft worth checking out? - Page 5

Be careful about getting addicted to it. It's got that incentivized "carrot on a stick" style where you always need to get that extra loot, level, ability etc.

I play EvE right now and vastly prefer its complexity and learning curve to WoW's extremely simplified gameplay. Where as WoW is stale (played for 5 years) EvE feels like a real challenge. But to each his own.

It depends on what you're looking for in a game. There will be a lot of farming, but its not that bad when you're new, because that means there is still a lot of areas and dungeons to explore and experience. When I played it I loved it but I made one big mistake. Dont play it because you feel like you have to, play it when you want to. I didnt do that and thus I lost interrest in it time after time. I kept coming back to it, but not anymore. Its just not fun anymore, simply because Ive played it too much. But it will definitely keep you busy during summer if its your kind of game. Just be aware that most of the fun starts at max level, but leveling is way more fun now after Cataclysm EVEN if you dont own the cataclysm expansion.
Cant hurt to get the Trial
