AMD Bulldozer FX has a heavy burden ! (the deficit it needs to overcome )

Thread Starter
I just complied the data from the Anandtech's review and it seems
that Bulldozer should be at least %50 faster than Phenom II 1100t
otherwise it will not threat either 2600k or 990x...

I hope JF can see this msg and comment if their server goal (%50improvement) is actually similar with the desktop one..

More BD drama.

we can not say nothing . intel dreams are gone away . because liano beat intel on laptops for power and power consumption and price . i believe that Bulldozer has some thing to say. i believe that can beat i7-2600 but there is nothing appear yet

would've been better if 980x wasn't included. looks stupid with the 990x on the same chart as a 2600k and 1100T

I think a lot will depend on how much Bulldozer can be overclocked. 'If' it can reach ~4.5/5ghz on air the we'll have an interesting battle with the 2600K.

Most interesting thing for me will be how well Bulldozer's 8-cores compares to 2600K's 8-threads. And whether bulldozer's single thread performance will even come close to sandy's.

My guess is that bulldozer's 8-core will beat 2600K's 8-threads in terms of multi-threading, but will fail when it comes to single thread performance.

Looking forward to seeing what AMD can produce - hope it does well - but not too well for the sake of me not having to upgrade.

Either way it's silly to be comparing a $180 CPU with a $900-$1,000 one.

We all know you love AMD but at the time of your post the 1100T is $200 at newegg and amazon. There's no need to drop that imaginary $20 to support your argument, your point is still very much valid at $200.

somehow I think its going to be a very hard challenge for bulldozer to overcome sandybridge...if they do.. just wow.. especially how cheap their crosshair motherboard is it will be win win situation but not if they release the cpu next year

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that at one point I heard that bulldozer would be 50% faster than the 1100t. The south will rise again!
