NaeKuh, you seem pretty well-versed on this stuff based on your forum posts (as is Opt33 of course), would you agree that using DI water with silver having contact with a pourous surface such as the Phobya above could potentially cause the copper molecules to be transferred to the silver coil? I admit that I am still in my first year of chemistry, so I am not by any stretch of the imagination an expert on this. Just seems like a plausible explanation to me with my limited understanding in this subject.
And it will leech Ag+ from the silver.
This is fact.. i wont agrue with anyone on that.
But the Ag+ starting corrosion with anything in your loop OTHER then brass first is whats confusing the hell out of me. And even with brass it should take a ridiculously long time for noticeable wear.
Ag+ and Brass has the furthest index.... its the Brass u should see getting barf'd up, not the copper.
But were seeing the silver.. not copper... not brass... so what the hell... im back at first base.
Its like this... when a nuke explodes.. u see the light ... then the heat.
But were skipping the light all together... going straight into the heat.
So im thinking its not a nuke but something else.
But guys i can tell you everything thats happening right now is relatively new.
All of a sudden masses and masses of problems are arising when we went though years of trouble free incidence.
So, it has to be something recient thats changed.. and the problem is no one is telling the truth so we can find out.. and its very difficult to find out whose actually correct.
