I think that reccomendingmore than 650w is good. Why? Because you do not want to put your PSU at full load all the time. If the PSU dies, you can take all your parts with it, remember that. Also, you can use PSUs in future builds, and TBH, a 650w PSU isn't gunna be enuff 4 years from nao.

True, but what it basically comes down to is that top-end Nvidia cards are usually a little heavy on the power draw and you should go for a 750W for SLI. For AMD/ATI stuff a 650W will almost always do for Crossfire (excluding the 2900XT, which sucked anyways).

Single GTX570 system, would draw around 470w. A 650w is more than enough.
These PSU calculators are pretty bad, and overrated, also if its from a PSU manufacturer, they are going to make money by convincing you to buy a bigger PSU.
A quality PSU will put out its rated wattage and more, so why waste the extra money?
