Basically my computer is running bad. Like in Farcry 2 I get something like 40 fps in very small areas with nothing happening but in action stuff (the part that matters) I can't get over 20 FPS. Also WoW on high or maxed out runs at like 20 fps.
I have tried a few things but for some reason with a medium rig I can't run most game at a decent FPS. Even Jamestown gets big FPS drops.
I've used CC cleaner, Driver Sweeper and Game Booster so nothing is running in the background.
Those results sound about right for that GPU. The GTS250 = 9800GTX+, which is decent, but not really strong enough to max near-HD resolutions on its own in modern titles.
WoW used to be a cake walk (I remember maxing it at release on an ancient 6800GT) BUT it's been updated over the years and is actually more demanding than people realize.
The last time I played WoW (right after Cata launched) I had a stock Q6600 w/SLI 9800GTs and my results weren't much better than yours.
The easiest upgrade would be grabbing a cheap GTX 460/HD 5850 and OCing your Q6600 to 3GHz or more. You'll more than double your current framerates.
