So to most people who look at those ratings, a 50% is not 'mediocre', it's an absolute failure, the worst. An F--. An AVERAGE metascore of 49 is probably one of the worst I've EVER seen.
And while I'd hate for any Dev to try and influence scores, If Gearbox feels that certain reviewers are exaggerating and hating then they're within their right to let these people know. I just don't see how this game could be that bad to get an AVERAGE Metascore of 49.......I have it coming via gamefly for Ps3 so I guess I'll know soon enough
Yes, well... I'm not from the US. In Europe we have a different system (actually we have more than one), and I don't even know how other parts of the world work like so it's not as straighforward as that. Either way, it's not brilliant by whatever standard we use
Edit: oh, if you want to check out some games with an even worse score, it's easy, just go to the Steam page for Shadow Harvest: Phantom Ops, which got 36, and scroll down to the recommended "If you liked this crappy game, you'll be delighted with these awsome piles of crappiness:"
- Rogue Warrior (2009), with a Metascore of 29;
- Shellshock 2: Blood Trails (2009), with a Metascore of 40;
- The First Templar - Steam Special Edition (2011), with a Metascore of 57 (worse than DN Forever which has 59 as of now on the PC).
So, there you go, 4 games even worse.
Thanks! and, of course, Rep+
