Deciding between 2 options.

I will be returning my current OCZ agility 60gb due to disappointing performance. After reading around the forums, it looks like a lot of people say to stay away from sandforce controllers. I was wondering what do you guys think about getting a Crucial M4 or a Intel 510?

EDIT: I could also go for a Vertex 3, but I'm worried about the risk.

Thanks.

+1 Crucial M4 over the Intel 510 - why? cheap, reliable and fast.

+1000000000 Crucial M4/Intel 510 over the Vertex 3 - why? reliable, they work and.... they work. did I mention they work?

I was going to get the Vertex 3, but after all the horror stories, its not worth the risk and headache. I had decided on the Intel 510, its a great drive and is reliable, but after checking out the Crucial M4, I am going that route cause I can get it for $60 less than the 510.

Not to mention the M4 gets rave reviews. Gonna order my M4 today.

Thanks, did you get the 128Gb M4? I want to get that, but my local shop doesn't carry that model.

You're talking about memory express? I'm from Calgary as well and it sucks that they don't carry the 128GB version as that is the size I want as well.

I was going to call them to see if they are going to get any 128GB M4s in anytime soon, but I think I am going to get mine online somewhere.

Yep, memoryexpress. I might just order from newegg.ca, but I like buying local incase there are any problems.

$250, I wouldn't mind spending the extra for the Intel 510 at memory express. But I wonder if the Intel performs better?

I had the Intel 510 price matched at memoryexpress vs. the newegg price, it came to $275 I think. I was going to buy my M4 from directcanada.com, they had it for $213.13 and it was instock literally 5 minutes ago, by the time I created an account and was about to make payment, the status said "no stock"

CRAP! Best Direct has it for $221.09 CDN I might get it from them now...

Check this out as well.. its a pretty cool tool to compare drives. There's no M4 128GB, but the 256GB M4 is in the list... supposedly the 128GB M4 is slightly faster than the 256 version.
