AIDA64 or HWMonitor?

I was wondering which one I should believe because I noticed that the voltages are quite off. I thought something was wrong with my PSU when I checked HWMonitor but later I checked AIDA and the voltages seemed fine. I checked the BIOS as well and it seems to give me the same voltages as AIDA so I'm thinking that's correct but I want to make sure.

You can't judge a psu off of software voltage reading, they are always going to be wrong. I don't remember the piece of equipment you use to measure the voltages off the psu, but i do remember software is always off.

Yep.

Go to your local hardware store and buy a Kill-A-Watt meter. It plugs into your outlet, and you plug you computer into it. It then tells you the wattage, amps, and volts. I have the Kill-A-Watt EZ and it works great.

Interesting. And I believe you mean a multimeter which I don't have which is why I was using software.

It's not really a multi meter, really just a surge protector (power strip) with a display. If you have to use software, use the BIOS, that will always be the most accurate. If AIDA64 agrees with the BIOS, than I would say that it more accurate than the HWMonitor.

Your PSU is an exceptional PSU though, so it should be fine.

More then likely your psu is working fine as it is a high quality unit. You can use software to give you fairly accurate cpu and gpu voltages though. Hope we where some help.

Lemme jump in here if you don't mind~

I have HWMonitor - and the issue I have isn't the "what's the watt and volt coming from the wall"--- So the Kill-a-watt shouldnt be much help--- its more of the "Is my CPU getting 1.504 volts or is it getting 1.610 volts... As I'm sure the crew here at Overclock.net is aware, that's a huge difference in both the longevity of my CPU, and in the amount of overclocking I should be expecting to get from that voltage. Both of these readings are from when I have the BIOS set to give the processor 1.435 volts.

Are any of these readings right? Should I just trust the BIOS (which is also software, right?) over the in-windows software programs? If I were to buy a multimeter, where do I measure to figure out what the CPU-NB and CPU are at?
