Its just a stock mid tower, nothing fancy but because of the size and position of the SATA ports its very hard to get more hard drives in it.
What im looking for is a decent size case with the hard drives on the bottom of the case, like i have seen some cases where the actually mount under the motherboard. Does anybody know what im talking about?? i cant seem to find any but i have seen them on OCN and would really like to look into them. I would buy a rack mount tray but because my server is a full ATX board not sure if it will fit. Can anybody help me out? :/
Lian Li's PC-Vxxxx series has the hard drive section separated from the motherboard section. I own two of the first iteration PC-Vxxxx cases (the PC-V1000B and the PC-V2000B), but the new-generation cases are based on largely the same design.
Have a look at the PC-V1020B
, which can fit seven 3.5" HDDs at stock. The PC-V1020 also comes in red and silver, if I'm not mistaken.
(As an aside, I'm somewhat surprised there isn't an equivalent to the PC-V2000
, which could fit at least 12
EDIT: There actually WAS
an equivalent to the PC-V2000, the PC-V2010
. Unfortunately, that case seems to have been discontinued.
Good luck in your quest!
