[GB] Crysis 2 Removed from Steam NOT because of 'Origin' - Page 7

Now that is Steams response to Origin? I am disappoint.
I really hope they will work something out, being greedy isn't exactly what I expected from them :/
Hopefully things will work out somehow, especially as BF3 needs every single sale to show COD how to make a proper PC game in my opinion. And I want it on Steam, as some others here.

Why is that not plausible? By making games exclusive from Steam, EA can get all the money from their published games without a middle-man. Smaller companies like D2D, Impulse, etc. may not be able to negotiate a higher price from EA like Steam. When you buy a game in a retail store, EA gets all the money since they are the publisher.

You are quick to pick up the mantle of rallying against Valve. Why?

I'm confused at why everyone is blaming Valve/Steam. They're as much to blame as the Justice Department is for punishing you when you break a law. The article, which has EA's statement on the matter(what's quoted in the OP), says that CryTek broke one of Steam's rules and were punished for it. So if anyone is to blame it would be CryTek...

steam is the "middle man"
it goes
EA > Steam > Customer
EA > D2D > Customer
or for retail
EA > Gamestop > Customer

so idk what ur refering to.

Yes, that's how it works. When you run a service, you make the rules. Shocking, I know.

You do realize there is little different from a retail distributor and a digital distributor... They all take cuts of the pie.

My point is how big of a pie EA gets? If EA had their way, they would not want Steam to take any part of the pie.
