Would my 850w cut the mustard? - Page 2

I think it's cutting it a little too close, 2 460's and a 580. Why you adding the 580 to the 460's?

It only has 2x 6 pins and 2x 8 pins too.

The 460s run in SLI whilst gaming and not when folding, the 580 will be there to fold all the time.

This is off the wall total system power consumption.
460 SLI about 510 watts.
1 580 about 490 watts.
So looking at that I would say that 2 460 + 580 will consume about the same as 580 SLI.
You will be fine.

Ahhh, it may not be ok depending on the amps on the rails. I would place money it is NOT ok. What brand and model PSU. He will easily push over 60 amps and if the rail(s) don't support it you may have a problem.

Edit: looks like 6 18amp rails???? Do I read that correct 6?????? on his PSU?

If 460 sli equal about the same power consumption as a 580. Then it should equal about the same power consumption as 580 sli. 850 watts is enough to easily run 580 sli.
That was off the wall total system power consumption not the card them self.
