Why by a 4 core cpu, when u can have 8...?

Any unused cores shut down, while live ones OC themselves and put out higher single thread performance. Plus, when needed you also have a more robust system with 8 real cores, aswell.

So that when future titles like BF3 are out, u have the added capacity to do more.

Nobody (as in gamer/home owner/ end user) cares how fast a cpu is, they only want it to do more, handle more additional loads. Windows7 loves cores.

Without a comparison there would be no analogy, look it up.

Too bad they're taking so long to get to market. I stopped waiting for it and got i7... at least it was on the shelf, and it'll last me 2-3 years. GG AMD.

I'm about to say the same thing. I was so excited when I heard that it would be released in June and then AMD goes and pushes it back. Marketing strategy nothing, if anything they lost potential customers. But I guess it makes sense if the performance of the current stepping isn't doing them any good.

LOL. This thread is so typical of OCN lately. If you don't like BD, then don't buy it. If you like BD, then buy it. Enjoy the features that it employs. Like I said before, if you really don't care how the CPU does the job you ask it to do, then don't worry, just buy it and play your games and such. If you do care about how your CPU does it job, then do your RESEARCH and decide what brand you would like. These brand specific rants and poo flinging threads have gone beyond the level of stupid.

That is very relevant and totally worth bumping this thread.

Im very interested to see how well BD performs as far as folding goes. I would love to switch back to AMD but ATM there is nay a good chip from AMD that performs as well as 1366 or SB without the use of mod/hacking. I hope to see BD perform on the same level as SB if not better

BD MUST GET!

But seriously Im gonna get a Crosshair V 990X at the beginning of the month, wont even have a use for it until I get the BD, I mean come on, do I really need to throw this 955be in there to do my usual heavy gaming?

Methinks not..., Id rather have it fresh and new for the BD, or is that a bad decision? Is it quite probable better boards will be made before BD arrives?

Yeah, I was waiting since not so late last year... I was hoping for a spring release, then 2nd quarter release... finally gave up waiting.
