Yes, C++ is said to be based on DirectCompute. I was just referring to the article in OP, which is just marketing spin. C++ AMP is basically another competing language to CUDA and OpenCL.

Here are the benefits of C++ AMP:

and its one hell of a competing language supported by the biggest software company in the world ... not only that ... the biggest os maker in the world with the biggest consumer base ....


its win win for us ... we might see lots of gpu accelerated software popping up sooner or later ...
