I woke up to the sound of my tubing popping out of the outlet on the CPU block (XSPC) Water went all over my 3 video cards..motherboard..who else knows what. I am a little sad right now.

I took the advice of some reputable guys on here not to worry about zip ties or clamps and it worked for a couple months.. But this really sucks.

I should have taken the advice from the genius who said the h70>Rasa kit, with all the trouble water kits give you.

Now I am most likely out of 3 Gpus, and a motherboard.

I immediately disassembled everything..and cleaned all parts with rubbing alcohol. I have it all sitting in 10lbs of rice and will wait it out for 1-2 days.

I'm pretty sure the Cyclone which was plugged in to the monitor is gone.

What are the chances the motherboard and other cards were saved?

I think slim to none. This sucks. Big time.

EDIT: Here are pics. And I used 7/16" tubing over 1/2" barbs. It was a very tight fit and many people run it like that without clamps. How did this corrosion happen? I used clean distilled water, kill coil, dead water biocide, and it has only been 3 months.

Maybe I need to change water every other month or something???

Possible culprit. The discoloring in the biocide, is that normal? Is that to blame? I will contact FrozenCPU if that's the case.

Man, I feel soo bad for ya. Thankfully, It was distilled water, so Rice = Your Hero.
In the next few days, whip out that secondary system you have and hope for the best!

That totally tells me not to get watercooling unless its the Corsair Hydro H50/H60/H70. I was already debating on getting a H50, because I finally want to enter Watercooling as a teen my age, LOL.

There you go again.. Someone that has no clue what they are talking about..

7/16 over 1/2 = tight fit. Lots of people do it. But even if I had a clamp on there it would eventually given up or something else would have happened...did you see the corrosion?

You don't need a bio cide when you use a silver kill coil, it is both anti fungal and anti microbial.

7/16 over 1/2"long barbs is a very tight fit, not so much on those short no-name brand barbs. I can never dislodge tubing from the barb when I use 7/16 on a 1/2" long barb, I have to cut it off or use a heat gun.

Only one of my clients has made the choice to throw money away on compression fittings but none of my customers have ever had a leak.

The clampless set up had nothing to do with it, its fairly obvious that corrosion has done its work on the barbs and probably degraded the strength of the tubing. Being under a fair amount of stress it simply popped off.

Just my sleepy 2cents.gif

Gosh no wonder this thread is 14 pages.. people juts come in post stupid comments to get their posts up. STOP TROLLING.
If it was so tight, then why did it leak? Is the risk of total FUBAR worth it to save money on clamps or compression fittings?

Apparently not.

This doesn't happen all the time. Something had to be wrong in the loop, defective water block, coating on the barbs.s

It's like purchasing DOA video card from newegg..just because it happens once in a great while, means you will never buy from them again?

If you don't need to please do not water cool. But for what I was doing I needed better cooling.

its not for everyone. theres a lot of learning to go with it. When i did my first attempt (which is the computer im running now), i had a ton of mishaps, including listening to some noob who told me fesser was better than distilled water. I have had over 4 total major leaks, some of which soaked my hard drives, motherboard, gfx cards to the point where i had to get a air compresser out to get the water off it, then alcohol over it, then under a heatlamp (no rice available). its all about the risk, and the desire to mod for me. i dont see any temp diffrence because i only have 1 loop and my case can only house a duel 120mm.

to the OP: best of luck, i would try each gfx card seperate, if they both test out fine, then you should be golden. just take your time, dont rush anything, and get some clamps on those barbs smile.gif

Yeah, But what I'm trying to say is that it is obviously just adding more room/things for something to go wrong.
