Thinking of getting a new Mobo

Thread Starter
OK, my current MoBo fried and is on it's way for RMA.
While I am not a major overclocker, I want a board I don't have to worry about some mild overclocking killing the board.

I need a MATX board, and would like a AM3+ board just to be future proof a little, but Newegg only has 3 AM3+ MATX boards listed right now (must be MAXT, I have an Antec P180 Mini).

I kinda like the GA-880GMA-USB3, but is a little more than I want to spend (I would like to stay around $75 shipped).

I can deal with AM3 boards if the price is right, so what are some recomendations? I understand the 880g boards are a better choice with most having at least 4+1 VRM. How does this MSI board look?

It will be used with a Phenom II 840, but I may try unlocking my 555 again (it would not unlock on my old board, but the previous owner had unlocked it). I would prefer the 555 even as an x3 vs the x4 840 since the 555 has L3 cache and has an unlocked multiplier.

Or should I just wait a little longer for more AM3+ MATX boards to come out? I am not completely set on when/if I will upgrade to an AM3+ CPU, so If I can find a decent AM3 board, even used, I think I would be fine.

If it was my money I would get the GA-880GMA-USB3 simply because msi boards are fine for budget builds but for you who's running a Phenom II you would be better off with gigabyte or asus

Not a fan of the matx am3+ selection. While I do agree with getting an AM3+ for the future, I would probably buy a new cheap case and a better motherboard if you can afford it. If not, I would def pick this one.
